The heirloom service took about three weeks — longer than I expected, but they kept me informed and asked before ordering a replacement crown. The written notes were a genuine addition; I hadn't realised the watch had been partially serviced at some point in the 1970s, which they found and recorded. Challenge

A daily-wear watch running fast

A client's everyday Tissot was gaining approximately two minutes per day. The watch had not been serviced in around eight years and was in daily use.

What we did

Cleaning & Lubrication service

Full disassembly, cleaning, and fresh lubrication. Assessment revealed worn keyless-work components that were contributing to the rate issue. Quoted additional cost before proceeding.

Rate confirmed before collection. Client returned six months later for a crystal replacement — a result of a knock rather than any service issue.

Challenge

Cracked acrylic crystal on a vintage piece

A client's vintage watch had a cracked acrylic crystal from a fall. The watch had sentimental value; the client specifically wanted acrylic, not a sapphire upgrade, to keep the period feel.

What we did

Crystal Replacement (acrylic)

Correct acrylic size sourced to match the original profile. Fitted and sealed. Client was consulted on the slightly domed profile of the replacement versus a flatter option available.

Outcome

Correct fit; period character retained

Client collected within the week. The slightly domed profile was preferred once seen in person. Watch returned to daily use.
